Mum's the word

Written for a performance with the theme "Insprired by Sylvia Plath". After reading Sylvia Plaths poem "Cut", I tried to adopt a similarly blunt, short style using metaphors to give pictures to my emotions. In this case, I'm constantly on the cusp of calling out for my mum in the shops, like she is in another aisle or something. Sometimes the urge is so strong I think I might, except I can't afford to be taken to the mad house yet, lol.

This is very sad and poignant. I can understand the feeling here and the way you have summed things up in that protective role reversal.

That is a very good summary of the story - it could easily be a children's book it's so simple.

I really like the graceful swooping rhythm of this poem. I feel the flight of the birds and the breeze and the freedom of flight.
