Really enjoyed this. Well written and gripping. And scary. Like someone succumbing to dementia. Reminded me of 1984, Logan's Run, any of those distopian novels. Made me wonder what David had died from. Refusing to get assimilated maybe ?...
This is a lovely concept Jenny, beautifully imagined and presented.
When I was a teenager I had an idea that I would write myself a letter on my birthday every year. Of course I never did, but how interesting it would have been to read...
I know just what you mean Rhiannon, and you've expressed it so well.
When the days start getting really shorter and darker it's November, but we've got Christmas to look forward to. Then after that it's the solstice to look forward to (...
Harry, you may not be blessed with a natural instinct for marketing your wares, but you are certainly blessed with a talent for writing. I love the way you can blend the funny and the sad, and make both completely credible with no clash in tone (...

I loved this, delicately expressed. I could instantly see the picture in my mind's eye.

Sorry Claudine, I was just generalising about how I feel in general about native language passages in novels.
Absolutely, I understand you have to know what people are actually saying on ABC. I didn't word it very well.

Yes you don't have to spend a lot of money to have fun. That's a lovely, sweet image. It's cheered me up, thank you.

Yes I remember Noel, he employed the philosopher. There are indeed many similarities between The Beehive and The North Pole pubs.
I still live near Swindon. I think you and I should take Harry out for a pint at The Beehive sometime.
