Hi Penny, you are so prolific with your story writing I can hardly keep up. Loved every moment of this story and I honestly have to admit...not seeming arrogant, that the child in me did guess the answer to the riddle almost straight away....
Some interesting diary entries Turlough. I have to say that Thursday 18th January struck a chord with me, when you wrote:- This new technological age is all too much for me to handle with ease. I'm sinking fast, I'll soon be down on my knees....
I think this story would make a terrific animation, it's got all the attributes of those Disney cartoons, with a touch of...I think it's Hannah Barbra ( Not sure about the spelling,) but I'm sure you know what I mean.
As the sky changes colour with its pallet of pale pink, blue, purple, orange and white, your poem sets the scene in such a way, that seeing those naked branches brings their beauty to life.
