Stranger in a Cage

We all have them. We might convince ourselves otherwise but the plain truth is, we all have our prejudices. The trick is not to act those prejudices out.

What we know of ourselves is partial. What we know of others is distorted by masks and lenses; refracted through misread reflections. True understanding remains elusive, not out of malice, but because our identities are always fragmented and multiplied.

There's an old Chinese proverb: 'Sit by the river for long enough and you'll eventually see the bodies of your enemies come floating by.' It's got nothing to do with this posting, I just like the proverb.
