Thoroughly enjoyed reading this.  The solstice always feels like a special time.  I always put my Christmas tree up and decorate the house on the solstice, and it's a family event (when it can be!) - my kids make special efforts to be at home for...

Jenny, this is fabulous, and it's resonated with so many people, including me!  I've never been to Langdale Pike, but it took me back to walks in the Derbyshire dales.  I miss the vigour of the old days, but it's lovely to have the memories...

Delightful, Jenny.  As a cat lady myself (I've had four over the years, but never more than two at a time!) I recognised a lot of this.  My present mog is sitting next to me keeping an eye on things, as she always does!
