This part was hard to read

This part was hard to read Jean, especially the bit about little John Henry. I can't imagine why any mother would make such a sacrifice when she had such a beautiful home and family.
It must have been hard for Maria to write up notes on...
you have done a wonderful job with this poem. As we get older, it becomes wiser to leave the stress to the young who can cope...and it's good to be able to hand the grandchildren back at the end of the day.
Wish I'd had a Mr Wicks when I was at school in the 1960s. I absolutely hated maths and could never concentrate on the subject I never understood. Even to this day I don't know where I'd be without a calculator. More teachers...
The process of preserving needs care and attention. I don't know why, but your poem spoke to me not only of preserving fruit, but also the need to preserve the extinction of life...isn't it strange how words can take you in a completely different...
like Paul said, it's good to be able to see a personal side to Florence Nightingale, other than what we think we know about her healing the sick, from history books. I felt like I was sat at her bedside while reading.
Oren seems hell bent on continuing with this quest, and I can understand why with the effort he's put in. I wonder if the others will go with him! What will their finding produce? Looking forward to finding out more.

It would be tragic if anyone got hurt at this point. Phileus is so close. The only one he can depend on, is himself.
I wonder what will happen next! Will have to wait and find out.

I don't want to spoil the story for others who read, so I'll keep what I think happened to myself.
Very much enjoyed reading Hilary.
