Thanks Ewan. As well as this year's autumn crop of spiders coming early, I now have shapes on the blinds to think about as I go to sleep. I don't buy that explanation of the chimney stack at all

My parents loved Scrabble, and I was brought up playing it. We had a family league, and one of my proudest moments was when I came out on top! Happy memories of sitting at the kitchen table, with the dictionary to hand. Thank you for posting this...

I looked him up, too. This is a marvellous poem that really conveys the strength of his work. His paintings of trees particularly struck me - there's one called The Ghost Tree which I can't quite get out of my mind. Great work Di!
