I was so looking forward to the next part of your story Penny, and you haven't disappointed. This little band of friends are certainly having an adventure they won't forget.
Brilliant! I also agree with airyfairy about getting it published...
I like how you speak of autumn like old age, because that's exactly what it represents to me. Those resting years when we can teach the young what we've learned from being a child through to mother hood and lead them with hope in their hearts....
this is a wonderful read, and brings back some of my own memories. Some of the girls and boys used to placy kiss chase in the school playground when I was about seven or eight, but I wouldn't play because of lack of confidence...
This was very moving to read. It reminded me of an older couple facing up to old age, yet still remembering their youth and how life moves on...yet they each have their memories.
We too have the same problem

We too have the same problem with our car mirrors, but my partner''s the driver and it doesn't seem to bother him so I just leave them alone.

Such a juicy poem Di, that sweet taste that leaves me wanting more.
Very much enjoyed this one Di. Those blackberries can be turned into so many puddings can't they?

The natural world is so

The natural world is so amazing, every part has its use. As you say in your great poem Richard, the birch wood kept him warm.
Nature can be cruel, but kind too.

Hi Richard,
great observation of this magnificent bird. I often think I'd like to come back as an eagle in another life, they are so majestic.
