How much simpler it would be if people just smiled when they were happy, instead of for other reasons too! 'Happy' is quite a complicated emotion, of course, and means different things to each individual, but it's a nice thought.

All I can say is - exactly so! Spun sugar is a wonderful way of putting it. There are things on the news this morning that indicate that it is all indeed a triumph of style over substance. Mind you, I'm not exactly impressed by the style.
