I'm absolutely melting with these two.  I just want to build a wall round them and keep the world away.  Possibly my favourite line is 'he ginned as if he'd given birth to her' - tells you so much about him, and what he wants, and his feelings...

I bloody well wish I'd done this to mine before I retired.  She's a woman, but I think in her case the ping pong balls are where her heart should be.  Either that or a lump of sulphur.
