I'm not vegan, or even vegetarian, but I've never understood people who say others shouldn't be vegan because it's not 'natural'.  It's not 'natural' for human animals to have flush toilets or central heating, but no-one seems to have a problem...

Posted on Mon, 15 Jan 2018

It does feel like things are changing, one way or another.  It seems as though there are two forces engaged in a giant tug of war, and at the moment it's unclear which one will win.  All that tradition is indeed comforting to many people, but it'...

I very much liked the structure of this, and the image of the dream slipping out and smashing on the tiles, releasing all that wonderful imagery, is very effective.  Similarly the way it turns gently around on itself at the end, almost a dream...

I absolutely loved this.

Posted on Fri, 05 Jan 2018

I absolutely loved this.  Read it through, then went back and read it again after the 'reveal' and didn't stop chuckling all the way through.  I have a Sibyl, and I can just imagine her being this mean to a poor Sam.  I also have a much milder...

I love the structure of this

I love the structure of this and, as Rhiannon said, the picture of contentment through hard work.  So interesting too, to hear the story behind it.  Very enjoyable read.

I didn't see that last line

I didn't see that last line coming.  The scene is very well built up, inviting the reader to invest in these characters, and feel a genuine sadness for the woman watching and waiting.
