Really liked this - and that 'unsettling' (as Philip said) after-feeling. It's probably just me, but this line feels a bit awkward to me. - 'which I yawn out to relieve' Its a good description, but maybe it's the order of it - just doesnt sit...

There's anxiety in this and loss; a longing in the slipping away. The coldness and fluidity add to the movement - everything leaving, but there's coldness, too, in the almost scientific description - like an unwilling acceptance of death. Filled...
'We find an icon shop on the edge of a pilgrimage village
which we are in quite by accident.' - seems important because being there by chance means they are not there because of desperation - eg.
Insert, I was in stitches reading what you said, from finding nothing, to the dreaded thought of not only listening, but them thinking you were the sort of person to like Neil Diamond. Funnily enough, I turned down the offer of music, too. I just...

I loved the description of her, backlit with the sun on her shoulder, and that you bring her back to mind as she was - then at end, the poignant evacuee story; buttons for eyes, so lovingly sewn on the bear. That was touching.
Looking at love in an honest light from all angles doesn't detract from the real Angels here. So much love in the writing, and between the sisters. I found this piece very moving indeed.

This is on fire. Lots if real

This is on fire. Lots if real emotion. You turn repression into a drug. Brilliant!
