along the path where I take my dog every morning.  Every day a few more, soon they'll have to give way to the young sycamore and hedge parsley. It's lovely to see these old friends every spring.

I am going to make a small change to the final line so it is clear the narrator is not interested in the old ladie's money. I re-read it and it seemed to look that way.

Everything seems grey these days. So many houses finished in mono colours I find it depressing. Chic doesn't have to be black and white.
