Cohen claimed that all his lyrics were just poetry. He would write on anything that came to hand, sift through fragments later, pairing them up, piecing them together, one step up from Dada-ist Triztan Tzara's cut-ups, I suppose. Anyway, that's what i like to do, write bits and join them up later - or not.

- and I really do, for I consider Blood on the Tracks one of the best albums ever made - I doubt he ever wrote anything as unambiguous as this poem. I only wrote it* because I wanted to record it.

because I feel I have no right to complain if I don't. I even voted for 10 of the 15 years I lived in Spain, which was all that was permitted.
Proportional Representation is not inevitable, but it should be.
