A poem inspired by Kipling's Harp Song of The Dane Woman. I did a reading at our poetry group with myself and a kind lady taking the voice of the wife left behind.
A year to the day since our Springer Spaniel died; The human condition is such that I still miss him. I'd written some thoughts then, which I've revised here.
Congratulations Jennifer, you have esily combined two IP's into one poem, I thought using the mother nature metaphors worked so well, and we should always remember that she is our mother.
'Spring hasn’t sprung like a shot from a gun,' And we are off! The short lines and urgency ending in the slow down at the end lines - into summer. A very (for me) skilful poem.

Thanks Jenny. I think what put us off, is that we heard so much about the 'yoof' descending in swarms into Cornwall during summer, plus the holiday lets (which we also have in Norfolk). In contrast, for less travelling we can find ourselves 'oop...
