It's best not to let

Posted on Fri, 11 Jul 2025

It's best not to let Trumpenstein get to you/Alfred. He's a clown masqerading as the US President. He's now threatening Putin with tariffs if no peace deal is reached with Ukraine within 50 days. Of course, the Ruskies just laugh at DT's rhetoric...

"...a yearning leaves upon your face
to be out there by weather tossed."

What a beautiful poem and very much written in a classical way.

So skilfully done, Rhiannon. I enjoyed this one, in particular.

The style of the poem made me think of Kipling [Echoes of "If" even with the serious subject explored here].

A very skilfully executed piece of work.

Ah...we remember them all.

Ah...we remember them all. Quite poignant reading this on the 7th birthday of my beloved ginger toms - Travis & Perkins. A lovely read. Thanks for sharing the memory, Jenny.

Let's hope a better America emerges from its current mess. Sadly, his term in office has a way to go yet. Who knows where will all be when the Trumpmeister is finally done.

Good on Alfred Muggins for contiuing to call out the Orange...

That's a powerful lamentation

That's a powerful lamentation and an apt metaphor.

Grieving for an animal is tough. I think it's because they are so vulnerable and dependant on us. There's a feeling of inevitable guilt that comes with everything else.

It reads like an elegy. I imagine after living a life like that, time was called sometime in the past.

Thanks for reading, T.

Thanks for reading, T.

Service stations off motorways are really black holes that people disappear through and return from when it's time to resume their journey.

I've tweaked the first couple of paras so this part now reads from Marie's POV. It does look smoother. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

This is an earthy, urban tale

Posted on Fri, 06 Jun 2025

This is an earthy, urban tale laced with domestic angst. It's all very credible written with the 'twin syndrome' humming at its heart. Looking forward to reading more.
