I write all sorts, some of it SF, urban fantasy and horror, a lot of it not. Sometimes I can even be funny, so I'm told. My short stories have appeared in the anthologies 'Cold Iron: Ghost Stories from the 21st Century' (Iron Press) and 'Science Fiction For Survival: An Archive For Mars' (Valley Press), as well as in magazines ranging from the literary magazine 'Dreamcatcher' to 'Writing Magazine' and 'The People's Friend' (the latter definitely not SF, urban fantasy or horror). I do regular local spoken word events, and needless to say there is a novel on the go. Do come and have a peep at the blogs, stories and audio at https://www.janeayrie.com - you can even go mad and sign up for my newsletter! Plus the usual social media stuff. All details below. Thanks for dropping in! (Oh, the picture is of my highly critical personal editor.)

Completely splendid. Joan is nothing like my ex mother-in-law but a lot like my old granny's neighbour. And toad-in-the-hole flavoured condoms - oh yes please! (Not for personal use, you understand, just for the sheer exhilaration of knowing they...

Delightful, Turlough. Ah, the joys of 1970s cuisine. And being able to get into a gig for a quid! And those gig regrets. I'll never forget a friend who, at age 16, hitch-hiked/blagged his way all the way from Liverpool to the Isle of Wight...

One of my favourite things is watching a summer evening turn to dusk. This is so beautiful and will be a lovely thing to turn to when, as today, the summer evening is one of belting rain and clouds!

This is such an emotionally charged but also very sweet story. This is my first reading of it but I know I will return to it. Great response to the IP.

Ha! I'm a Silver Surfer, apparently. I mean, not Jason Connery, obviously - nice bloke but couldn't act for toffees. I'm not sure Michael Praed could act either but who the hell cared?
Although chronologically I should be Senior Citizen,...

Absolutely love this. It's a completely engrossing stand-alone, and part of me really wants you to develop it, while part of me just likes the way it ends there, with all those possibilities for each reader to imagine for themselves. A really...

It was depressing hearing Starmer on the radio this morning, today's lesson in obfuscation starteth here. I'll still vote for them though, partly because my local Labour MP is a good constituency MP, and partly because...yes, Get The Bastards Out...

Really interesting story, Paul, with some solid Oppenheimer research. I understand he was tormented later in life by what he had contributed to. Eternal atonement is a terrifying thing to contemplate.
