It had nice rhythm and some good internal rhyme.

I wonder if you really need the final stanza? What does it add? It does jerk the/this reader right out of the atmosphere you have so skilfully created. \\\\

Some may say it feels like Groundhog Day as one of these acerbic satires is POD again. Perhaps it is, but they are very funny, and goodness knows we need some laughter especially in the dark days.
