Hi Ladybell, I'm so sorry

Posted on Thu, 14 Jan 2021

Hi Ladybell, I'm so sorry that you're going through this. This must be very hard for you. It must be so difficult too, as you have said, to feel that there is little respite at the moment due to COVID and lockdown. I would echo all of the above...

Yes! Two species like to feed

Posted on Sat, 31 Oct 2020

Yes! Two species like to feed on birds. The common vampire bat will feed on any mammal, including the occasional human. They have anticoagulants in their blood too. Also they shave fur with their sharp teeth if needed. Gruesomely fantastic...

Posted on Fri, 16 Oct 2020

Was the head returned with the giraffe, albeit separated or was the giraffe simply back headless, meaning someone still has the head somewhere, that's what I want to know. This is Pick of the Day for offering its usual wry humour at a time when...

Posted on Fri, 07 Aug 2020

I'm sure we are all offering you a hug across the internet, Jenny, reading this. A lovely poem that is a beacon for your mum's kindness and how much she meant to you. She clearly passed her kind-hearted ness on to you too as this is always...

Love the image of a house

Posted on Tue, 04 Aug 2020

Love the image of a house anchored in a sea of thousands. Also how in memories of rooms we seem to remember the quirkiest of details like the damp on the wall and how you made it into a race track. I remember being so ill for months when I was...

The repetition in this is so

Posted on Sun, 05 Jul 2020

The repetition in this is so effective. And a waltz, ironing, is perfect. Mind you, I deliberately buy things that don't really need ironing or look slightly creased. I would only iron for a special occasion these days which thankfully most days...

This lovely poem brings us the restless movement of wind that carries hope in its path and is the Pick of the Day. Please share on Facebook and Twitter if you like it too.

Posted on Thu, 14 May 2020

Ha. This makes me think of a political interview yesterday where it was reported that a Tory MP said that Keir Starmer was coming across a bit of a 'know it all' or words to that effect which made me laugh as, of course, we do indeed live in an...

Posted on Sun, 26 Apr 2020

Thanks Luigi, that's a very kind thing to say. When I'm working I can usually only make the time to write a couple of poems a week at the moment, in holidays I have been writing every day, but not sure that this has been such a good thing. I do...
