I'm a bit dense too seashore. clumsy, a form of justification, almost a cliche, a throwway liine that comes before, Allahu Akbar and throws away lives. I've actually convinced myself that's what I meant, whiich is quite impressive for me.

gets you on the rebound. There's a jump in the point of view from the narrator to that of the dogs watching him, in the first parargraph. It's a forecful imaged. Just meat. But incongrouus.
