Waka for Murasaki Shikibu

Since it is the start of Women's History Month I've attempted a waka (5,7,5,7,7) though I might have taken a bit of a liberty with the form.

The Fox Hunt

This painting is by Wilmslow Homer (1893), fox frightening crows, crows frightening fox. I especially like that it's a coastal scene and the red berries, and the dark glower of crows.

These are very sweet and nice to hear you reading them. You have captured childish states well with these, I think. :)

So beautiful. I enjoyed every bit of this poem, but the opening lines alone are wonderful. And you know what’s so lasting about poems like this, for me, is the next time I come across kelp I will remember this.

Aha, so this is the lost ID

Aha, so this is the lost ID poem! It's very good indeed and as Rhiannon says above, neatly done. Also I missed passports on my long list of things that would have my name on! (I might edit to see if I can squeeze passports in!) I remember this...
