Being in my early 70s now, I

Being in my early 70s now, I can relate to this poem, although a female, I was certainly a wild child and a big drinker through my 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. But now I no longer touch the lager, beer or wine and don't miss it.
This is such a wonderful acknowlegement to your mum. She looks about the same age as my mum in 1965, and I can understand how you feel, as woman now in her early 70s, I so miss my mum even though she died so long ago.
This is such an interesting piece of writing Harry. You explore the many qualities these type of places promote, like gifts of learning to those children that would otherwise lose out on.
I never get bored of reading and hope you get many...
Hi Rhiannon, there's nothing like a trip to the Ocean where ever it may be. That last stanza was stunning and reminded me of my own visits to the coast. Lovely poem and thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for introducing me to these poppies Rhiannon. I'd never heard of Wild Welsh poppies before. Lovely worded poem, and the photos are beautiful.

Oh dear! It sounds like there's trouble ahead. I wonder what the Sergeant wants! Will look forward to finding out with anticipation.

I really loved this poem.

I really loved this poem. What a great idea to keep hold of the suitcases, turning them into cherished cases for toys.
The photo shows you have an artistic eye too.
Very much enjoyed reading.
