You always give me sweet feelings

of pure happiness, without a single

flower in sight; just your smiling

presence, that happy thrill of being

with you is all that I desire.

 

Your faith in my achievements keeps

me grounded there's no doubt, for

without your positive support I might

feel a little off track,

 

I'd be consumed in lonely silence:

flying like a misplaced spring

love bird, eager to loom;

spread my wings, fly away for good,

 

tripping on emanating white

feathery clouds, searching for plump;

downy quilts and dreamy pillows,

just right for my mirage of imagined

dreams.

 

You illuminate my darkness, tolerant as

you are: when I pour out my rebellious,

cruel nightmares; you're always there,

listening till my storm recedes.

 

So: Valentine share a glass this day,

draw deep breath; and I will break fourth

from any fears, tracing our journey

of nearly twenty two years;

 

a different kind of love now from when

we first met...spilling, overflowing our

simple pleasures into the future; whatever

it may hold, for together we can always

find our hearts desires.

what a lovely comment to tune into on this stormy day we're having the wind is howling, rain pouring and I'm thankful to be indoors.

When I met my partner, we both felt such a connection, and I knew I'd found my soul mate. Twenty two years later we still both feel the same, I just had to let him know in a poem.
