"... and was chopped down

but grew and thrived again.."

I hope that's an allegory for the Sycamore Gap tree that was felled.

A lovely poem, so well done, Rhiannon. Paul

It's interesting to read how Alfred tries to make things easier through his power of hindsight. Your knowledge of this period of history is impressive. It makes it an ongoing, enjoyable read.

A sweep through the seasons done so adroitly. Beautiful imagery and sentiments. Nicely done, Jenny. Paul :)

"A rainbow paints its mystic tones

Wonderful images and lovely photos. As you know, I was in Pembrokeshire myself only recently. Your poem does the location justice, Rhiannon. Paul

The lead singer of The Cure has a lot to answer for. Evocative images conjured from your past, Jenny. We all do stuff we wish we hadn't...it's what makes us human :)

Beautiful imagery, for sure. An exposition filled with metaphors. The poem felt stoical yet sanguine. Enjoyed. Paul

Loneliness is supposedly a plague of the 21st century for various reasons. You are right that you can still be alone when surrounded by many others. Of course, ultimately, we are all alone inside our heads. We come into the world alone and we...
