How can we possibly imagine? ---------------------------------------- I look out of the window to see a sun shine, My children in a library, a million books define, An accumulation of knowledge, an acknowledgement to men,
In the beginning, things were great. Seemingly, it had been a match made in heaven. All the signs were that we had a bright enough future together. I can still recall our wedding day. The sky was an ebullient blue, phosphorescent clouds in the minority as the sun streamed down on the gathering entourage. We readied ourselves for our vows with the theme of the day being how well suited we were. Maybe even the stars had fated our partnership, what with Aquarius and Aries a completely compatible combination. It's hard to imagine how things could turn out so differently.
It had been this way for thousands of years; there was never a question of boredom so long as new entertainment could be found. The only hell in a purgatory of sorts was to be bored. After all, this was forever in a manner of speaking. Memnock took his place as he did every day, perched on top of his fluffy white cloud, positioned nicely for the coming hours.

That's another evocative diary entry. I can't imagine committing to something involving such endurance but well done to you for doing just that. Nicely done, Jenny.
Well done on articulating such a gripping tale. I am all for rescuing animals so good on you both for running the gauntlet with those cats. Yes, I can only imagine the emotions if it was people involved. It's a crazy world we live in.
A thoughtful and compelling tribute. I like the idea of conversing with people after they are gone. In literary terms anyway. I know little about Patrick Kavanagh so thank you for enlightening me.
Ferocious reporting from Alfred. I think a tentative ceasefire and hostage deal appears to have been made. Maybe the worm is turning. That's an interesting story from Roman times (made me think of the suicide squad at the end of "Life of Brian"...
It's a horrible situation but I read that negotiations re a ceasefire are happening between Hamas and Isreal. Common sense has to prevail soon. Surely?

Ah, so nicely done, Rhiannon. I wondered why a favourite place would be behind a settee and then the reveal - a cat! Lovely pic too. Enjoyed. Paul

Has Farage changed his surname since appearing in the Jungle? He'll do anything to avoid the misdeeds of his past.
A weird and wonderful poem. A randomness that seems to work. You put your insomnia to good use, Turlough.

Amazing facts. I think fruit flies are the one scientists use in experiments. An eye-opener of a poem and adriotly done, of course, Rhiannon. Paul

An evocative reverie wrapped up in a fine poem. A beautiful pic as well :)
