I found this unsettling. It is very well expressed and I agree with scratch, honest style writing. There's a sort of longing, yet at the same time pride that blocks the narrator from allowing himself to be reinstated into the grace of his 'tribe...
I love the way this story builds, but from her awareness of his screaming that last scene is simply brilliant - the cloth the tomatoes falling, hitting the floor, all that breaking and spilling as blood, and that line - 'the air – full of war,...
Maybe if we over think things there will be no answer except that secret signs are what they are - secrets. Paranoid overactive brains are not a relaxing combination, I really enjoyed reading this thought provoking piece and overthinking about it...
