Hi Penny, I imagine the hurrican that struck Forida was bad and those last 10 lines describe sadly what happened. I hope you were okay and not hit too badly. Having been on holiday on Florida's coast, I know what those strong winds can be like......
I really hope you get this story published Paul, it's got such a fantastic pace, and there's no end as to where Billy's adventures could take him. It's truely magical and holds the key to your great imagination. Really enjoying, and thank you so...
What a captivating scene for the season you've described in this poem Di. It was so refreshing to read. It certainly rinsed out any sluggish thoughts I've had, and now I'm desperate to get out and feel the wind on my face.
I hope nobody becomes ill, a week is such a long time to stay awake. I recall there was a programme on tv where people competed to see who could stay awake the longest, but I can't remember who won, or how long they managed without sleep.
Hi there Maxine, when I first read this, I was enjoying but didn't understand the ending. Now you've explained there's a part two, I'm looking forward to finding out whether she can survive the competition.

I like the many descriptions in this nature poem Rhiannon, from the:
spikey case around soft mattress
cushioning the conker's fall
shining polished horse-chestnut ball
copper gloss that brightens up a child's gaze of...

I was so saddened to read this, it's every parents nightmare and should never have happened.
Hope comfort can be found.
