Roaming the world, and beyond

I’d like to go to deserts and see the sand dunes shift. I’d like to visit jungles, and on the ocean drift. I’d love to see an iceberg, and polar bears – not near! …

A yellow world

She felt like vigorously colouring in, some energetic pressing back and forth, and filling in, not delicately shading different colours in, and proudly finished and presented – a yellow rainbow, yellow cloud …

Learning of Christ

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series] Through ages men devised, a spectrum of belief – … Preoccupied, and rare to show compassion, love, for others’ needs to care and help, assistance give. But when of Christ they hear, and see compassion real, so many vile things disappear as like concern they feel. … And women gain respect, not treated as mere slaves …

I've been wanting to get out

Posted on Wed, 06 May 2015

I've been wanting to get out into the countryside at night, and forgetting, or the difficulties of our caring for the elderly. My daughter spent a year high in the Alps and spoke wonderingly about the clarity of the 'jewels in the sky'. A few...

I have never been there, and not likely to, now. This sounds like it is based on a lovely clear etched memory. Rhiannon

Posted on Fri, 01 May 2015

I feel I'm watching into the tank to try and decide what my in-laws want to do.
What I found with both of them is that though we would try to get some stimulation going, eg videos, they would easily say they'd seen it before or weren't...

Intriguing to read all this

Posted on Thu, 23 Apr 2015

Intriguing to read all this account, and the notes at the end. All those delays over carrying out the sentence were reminiscent of the length people seem to be on 'death row' nowadays in the States. What the judge said about them having time to...

I guess this leaves one with the mixture of tenderness, sensitivity, and yet hard work and perseverance that is needed.

Posted on Wed, 15 Apr 2015

Don't need the wood for knocking on, but those birds being fed sure need them for bugs and nests!
Just changed the last verse since last night? I think I hadn't picked up the relevant point of the woods by the old bungalow being removed for...

You've caught such a lot in that little verse. Delightful! Though troubles come to the trusting one, they are kept through it by his power, and his blood has won the victory! Rhiannon

Posted on Fri, 10 Apr 2015

That third verse is especially lovely, and captures that view. All birds of prey seem so elegant, especially the kite. Is the pic a kite, I thought their tails were always more, or less, forked? I know I'm sometimes puzzled at the 'less forked'...

Posted on Mon, 30 Mar 2015

I thought it was a dog, but it seemed to be a cat! Liked the digging and the perfume. But wasn't sure about the 'his' in the last line - is it the husband having nine lives or should it be 'your' referring to the cat? Maybe I'm totally wrong, if...

What a lovely little inciden

Posted on Fri, 27 Mar 2015

What a lovely little inciden capturedt! Was it a green woodpecker? I gather they do hammer sometime but my husband used to tell me, if it's the hammering you hear, then it's the greater spotted. He keeps having to turn my attention to it anyway,...
