I am a Brummie living in North Somerset who loves to write but gets distracted with other things. I enjoy horror/fantasy and anything that provokes original thought.

My literary heroes are Clive Barker, Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe and HP Lovecraft.

Everyone should read George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-four .

I have work published by AlienBuddha Press, Loft Books, BlackBough Poems, DarkWinter Literary Magazine and Paragraph Planet.

Thanks for reading, David. Yep....most ghosts are remembered for something traumatic. It's the way lore works, I guess.

Great final line, Jane!

Posted on Thu, 13 Feb 2025

Great final line, Jane!

I like the inner thoughts of Vanessa that drives the narration. Her ennui is well done and now replaced by a whole new scenario. Spencer's back....I'm guessing with quite a story to tell.

Keep going :)

"..Dreams like driftwood washed ashore

From the pelagic cumulonimbus realm.."

Some great lines in this. My kinda poem. One to get lost in (probably both writing and reading)

Imagery and enigma.

[Really enjoyed both of...

Posted on Sun, 09 Feb 2025

Ha..I haven't thought about it in years but I burned all my school books too. In my back garden after the final day.

School days were bittersweet for most of us with good times and bad. I'm glad you were candid in your account as it makes...

That's a poignant vignette and, I imagine, of particular significance just now. Yes, hope springs eternal and in places you least expect :)

You can sense the tension

Posted on Fri, 31 Jan 2025

You can sense the tension which is a testimony to how this is written. The combination of racing thoughts and constant seeking.

Spencer's wandered off without his tablets....like we all do sometimes. Well I do, anyway :)

Looking...

I can feel the gusts of fresh breeze in my lungs.

Another wonderful ramble with you, Rhiannon. More gorgeous pics, too!

Another high octane piece.

Another high octane piece.

You write at such a breathless pace. If that's how you work then you must be exhauasted after a tour of duty.

Definitely an urban poetry feel to it and I can absolutely picture this as performance poetry...

"...yet still I'm

Posted on Sun, 02 Feb 2025

"...yet still I'm
haunted by past voices that
consume.."

That's a reflective piece, Jenny. I sometimes think it's easier to look forward than backwards. There's no ghosts to deal with when you look ahead. Of course, they are...
