What a rich landscape to explore. I got the sense of cold and damp combined with so much winter life and texture. The Black mountains above and the fallen tree 'bark - deep gingery-brown'. Your detailed descriptions create such a realistic image ...

I really enjoyed this little bit of escapism and Mr Lee's journey back through the years accompanied by the hustle and bustle of life around the cafe. I love it when older people make the effort to dress smartly each day. And now I want to read...

A wonderful tribute to a wonderful place Jenni. I enjoyed shivering limbs and the idea of ghosts (I'm sure there are many) a haven for wildlife. You've captured the spirit of the broadleaved forest in winter and the generosity of our ancient...

'Until you no longer remember me in your prayers', A long extinguished flame can suddenly re-ignite without warning but an unkissed state is one of both sadness and peace. I love the flow and movement. When something is so far out of reach you...

That is a lovely story. I bet he's sharp, his face is beautiful, he looks slightly whippety in the face. One of my whippets is almost 14 years, we've had him since he was 7 weeks old. I loved all the details around the beginnings of Skye's life...
