Very well written - really enjoyed reading this. The outside loo sounds particularly awful.
One small thing - it might just be me but I got stuck on this sentence for a bit - might it be more understandable with a comma after 'had'?...

I had to read back at one point to work out how many people there were and who was who, but apart from that this is great. The dialogue feels very authentic - really nice to see some prose from you!
