I have to say this is one of the best Christmas poems I've read since:

The night before Christmas when all round the house, nothing was stirrring not even a mouse.

Making plans is so easy when you're young, but as we age the anticipation is great, but the actual doing is something else that's harder to cope with.

A haunting story that's morally concerned with the mother's distinction of right and wrong. It made me wonder how much the children missed out on being rebellious. Their lives were so controlled.
