Memory of the sea

The sound of the sea
Echos full of memories
Listen and you can still hear them
The bandwidth is just out of reach
No need for a radio
Just put the shell to your ear
Memories mere facsimiles
All our yesterdays
Stacked like returned books
Ones read a thousand times
They enter the gestalt
This story
If you pretend hard enough
can be made a new
You tell it to me
And I ll tell it back to you
This way no one forgets
The campfire has died
The library been closed down
But rainy days are what tall tales were made for
The rain never halts
Let the sea swallow the land
I away in a boat
have mastered the sea
return again
To memory

Jacaranda City
In October the whole city Pretoria becomes the famous Purple Spectacle, wth the thousands of Jacaranda trees. Spring and Summer! Had our first rains just the other day.
Good poem Rob! Liked the "No need for a radio" idea!
All the best! Tom
