That didn't feel like 5000

That didn't feel like 5000 words, it was so enjoyable and entertaining.

I'm sorry to hear that you lost your dog, Skye.

I agree with you re the blurred edges of real life and AI. We already living with the blurred edges of 'real'...

I love the first line and from there all the fine details unfold, sparkling nature, reality and clever metaphors. Tiny hearts in feathers is all the promise of spring in a sentence. Very well done and one to return to.

Some interesting details in this. The mix of sadness and science fiction reminds me of some episodes of Dr Who, strangly I was getting Dr Who vibes in part one and in part two you actually mentioned it...

Thank you for reading and commenting, Di. I've had a similar thing with my mum, she gave me a watch chain and I said I was considering using the gold to turn into something I would wear, a plain ring, and she was aghast. Maybe I'll take it to...

All family treasures with much meaning, Rhiannon and prompts for so many memories and stories. That was an interesting dive into your cupboard. I'd forgotten all about those little wooden fruits with a moving beetle inside.

I found this story, gripping, thoroughly absorbing and gut-wrenching. There is so much magic in a garden, especially after dark. I love the analogy of the terrarium and the drama of sudden bereavement tempered by the domesticity of turnips.
