I can really understand why you needed to write this poem. The shock of knowing this builder took his own life is devastating news whether you knew who he was or not, and it leaves its scar.
Good morning Di, your poem describes well the many memories within our homes and upon the land they're built on. If walls and land could talk, I bet they'd have plenty to say.

What a sight to behold Rhiannon,
I love the idea of spongy turf, and the burbling melodies pouring down from skylarks unseen.
It must have been pure splendour to be up there with those magnificent views.
