Hi Harry,
I nearly missed this episode of Tom. He's really interested in everything around him, and his family are so together which is great to read. I wonder if he got that batman outfit! Christmas was such an exciting time for children...
It's amazing how far wages could go back in the day. Like you I got a brown wage envelope, but being a girl, I spent my wages on clothes and records...after I'd paid mum of course.

This is such an evocative write and brought back so many memories of my own. The imagination of Tom was similar to my own, and the fireworks in the back yard had me right there in my own back yard on November 5th.
