She provokes them with her questioning and offers them the prospect of possible adventures. This is set in an alternative world, not dissimilar to our own.

King Croesian is reminded, by High Priestess Patience, of his first wife, as she too seeks to do good in the world. The King's Cheif Minister becomes closer to the High Priestess. Soon she becomes a focus of the Court's attention. This story was set 1,000 years before the events in 'Life and Times of a Priestess', before the Empire of the Goddess came into existance.

The Western economies have become stagnant and poor. China and other parts of the world are now more prosperous. Charlotte and friends are introduced to adventures in their new work, which create unexpected reactions. This is Section 1 of 2 sections, which somehow didn't get posted up properly around 1/4/19 when Section 2 was posted - so it has been missing from this collection, and is now restored.
