I am a Brummie living in North Somerset who loves to write but gets distracted with other things. I enjoy horror/fantasy and anything that provokes original thought.

My literary heroes are Clive Barker, Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe and HP Lovecraft.

Everyone should read George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-four .

I have work published by AlienBuddha Press, Loft Books, BlackBough Poems, DarkWinter Literary Magazine and Paragraph Planet.

Great story.

I love the train of thought that underpins the narration. And the small detail, as always. Yes, that's an alluring twist to end with!

"He stood out because they all had beers in their hands but he was standing perfectly still, with his arms crossed and a felted wool toadstool on his head."

Spencer looks and sounds like a fish out of water more than ever in this episode...

Well it's nice to hear that Alfred had a break even if it seems to have arisen out of confusion. The company's loss and our gain at reading more of his work.I wonder if he will ever get back to his 'Henry VIII timeswap with Alfred' stories. Maybe...

Nicely done and you should definitely carry on with this. It reads like ideal fiction for children/young adults with its lilting narrative. Looking forward to the next part

"A causeway of slimy stones

As green as beer bottles

Shattered and scattered.."

That an evocative poem with pen pictures drawn so distinctly.

Took me to another time and place.

Fine work indeed.

"A family of bears had a nice little cottage,
Mother Bear made them their breakfast porridge.."

That's an inventive take on the classic story.

Very enjoyable, Rhiannon.

And a lovely picture :)
