“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" (The tale of the Headless Horseman) is a ghost story set in Upstate New York in the town of Sleepy Hollow. It was written in 1820 by Washington Irving who lived there. The story has been depicted in plays, movies and even in Disney’s memorable cartoon form. I had visited this area when I was in New York and during Halloween the town does do justice to its legend...this sparked a story for me and what follows is a short story spun from that visit...I hope you enjoy it.

It sounds like you could be a Brick Master with the way you describe your enjoyment. My older son loves lego's too and as a child, at the age of 5, he begged for the Pirate Ship. He was so determined and adamant that he could build it that we...

Your humor is intact in this gripping piece of autobiography and that amazes me; it had to have been harrowing when you woke up and realized you were on the floor, and not being able to reach your daughter had to be frightening. I don't know why...

A nightmare; that's what this felt like; a never ending dream of horror. Tragic, that she almost tasted freedom but failed in her attempt to flee. The ending is powerful in its looping her back to captivity.

Agree with Marandina; those Victorian dolls gave me a Haunted Mansion vibe, but the dream sequence that moved your sleeping spirit along was woven well throught out your poem. Dreams are like that, mercurial, starting in one place and swiftly...

I've become a reader of ingredients on the food products too and it can be confusing; first off so many ingredients don’t even sound like food and cannot be all that good. I try too to eat healthy but it’s a challenge finding fair, priced healthy...
