10/3/23 Alfred realised that, as he was the Head of Henry’s new Church of England, and the vast majority of his people, nobles and poor, all believed...
15/6/24 ‘No work today!’ Alfred felt guilty. It was the ‘Ides of June’, so to speak. (He was certainly not going to the forum today!) It was Saturday...

I did enjoy your piece, which does remind me plenty of my school days too. I got my A Levels in 1982 so the period was just right for me. I remember the Falklands War and the crazy and incredible Thatcherite unemployment figures in the news, the...
You may be right about the AI customer service, because at least the customer can access some knowledge that way. You are correct that this job probably was staffed by a lot of 'unhappy humans who only stay for a few months'. Half of our group...
Your version of Hot Cross Bun Blues has certainly made me Feel a Whole Lot Better! You Made Me Smile (Again!). If I had a Hot Cross Bun left in our fridge/or larder I would have gone and eaten it straightaway without remorse! Unfortunately we do...
The ballet dancing job sounds very interesting Turlough, but I don't think Alfred would be much good at that either, although he does like a bit of Tchaikovsky from time to time. He will promise to avoid the Leeds area, thanks for the warning! He...
Thanks for your comment Di Hard. Your partner seems to have had a particularly difficult job as he was being obliged to sell. At least my (Alfred's!) job was aiming to help or answer callers' questions etc, even if doing a satisfactory job might...
This is great science fiction and certainly gets us thinking and trying to work out what is real and what is not etc. (What did you say your name was again? Philip K ??) It also reminds me of the 'Total Recall' film and others like that.
A rich and strong image creating poem about this castle (and would describe other ruins and castles too!)! You take us back into history and conjecture. We missed this one when we went to Pembrokeshire a couple of times in recent years, although...
Our world might soon become a kind of museum to the dead if we all invested into these kind of holograms! Would we ever be able to go forward with our real lives? Great ideas and imagining of a future technology!
You have packed rich imagery into this poem, which describes the place and animals very well. It did remind me of a safari I once went on in Kenya too!

That certainly was a good question to ask of the oppressor! That is quite a gripping insight into dictators, a good piece!
