Poetry - For All Reasons

Richard L. Provencher enjoys writing poetry. His view of the world and its place among the patches of life is a fascinating exercise. He likes to write about everything. Viewing behind the eyes that see and bark that covers the trees is his challenge. His work is a gift from God; as he believes all gifts are.

Richard lives in Truro, Nova Scotia and has done so for over 25 years. He was born and raised in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec where he lived 23 years. After 21 years in Ontario (all over) and marrying Esther in 1975, they moved to beautiful Nova Scotia; and resided first in Pictou.

Richard is happy to share his work and wishes you to enjoy it too. Combining his love for nature and contemporary issues is also a reflection of his style. At a young 70, and in spite of a stroke in 1999, he still enjoys the Muse. His mentor in 1965 was Toronto poet, Raymond Souster.

Richard and his wife, Esther, were married on March 27, 1975 in Sarnia, Ontario. They moved to Truro, NS in 1986. They have four children and five grandchildren.
