Death on the Beach

Some You Win ..

'Would you like a beer', asks the host. I think he's called Mark. I open my mouth but before I can speak, James says 'She doesn't drink'. He tries to...

Brilliant as usual, Jay.

I hadn't heard that 'Write

Posted on Thu, 11 Jun 2026

I hadn't heard that 'Write drunk, edit sober' but I love it.

Good writers like you don't

Posted on Thu, 11 Jun 2026

Good writers like you don't need a lot of words to paint a picture Harry. Like Di I can see your characters in my head perfectly.  Think of Hemingway's Iceberg Principle, and he didn't do too badly !

I think it helps that we're...

One of the main sticking

Posted on Mon, 08 Jun 2026

One of the main sticking points in the US/Iran negotiations is that the US killed off all the Iranians at the top level of government and then moaned they had nobody with any authority to negotiate with .. it would be funny if it wasn't so tragic...

I know what you mean about

Posted on Tue, 09 Jun 2026

I know what you mean about stories taking on a life of their own.  Personally, I don't necessarily want an ending where everything is tied up.  I rather like the books/films where you have a long conversation with your friends about what actually...

Jenny - all large Tesco

Posted on Mon, 08 Jun 2026

Jenny - all large Tesco supermarkets have a quiet hour Wednesday and Saturday, from 9am-10am.  My neighbour goes to the one in Cirencester because he doesn't like noisy and crowded environments.  They dim the lights and lower the checkouts noise...
