I have enjoyed reading your summary of the day Charles effectively became King. It is a marvellous mixture of the personal and the public transfer of authority, a great record of these days!
You express so well what many of us are feeling, even those who do not consider themselves to be royalists in any sense, according to my reading of facebook comments etc.
As always you have told a tale which describes normal behaviour well, but leads into a gripping drama of cliffhangers and possibilities, the fear of the unknown and uncertainty! It reminds me in many ways of your 'Enchantress Of Avalon' story...
