Children of Obscure Inventors by J.B. Pravda, Part. 43
Thornton Shodenhammer, inventor of the clown shoe, though unheralded,
had brought mirth and laughter to millions worldwide and, in turn,
swelled the ranks of clown colleges as well.
Sadly, his hapless son Wadsworth, owner of size 26EEE feet, embezzled
millions of dollars in order to support his shoe fetish aimed at
women's sandals.
Thereafter, clowning would never be the same, having thusly lost its
peculiar insouciance, leading ineluctably to the cheap, one-size fits
all model extant to this day, and the ubiquitous frown makeup kit,
invented by a rival entrepreneur [see Part 87], garnering increasing
notice and instilling a gnawing sense of irony within the community of
clowns-----they had begun to cry on the inside.
