Love Has a Silver Tail

Blue
waters
surround us,
so tempting, so
inviting. You look
at me with pure blue eyes,
smiling, dancing with bliss. You
take my hand, we run to the
edge. The sun smiles down on us, the day
is perfect. We linger for no longer
than a second before plunging into
the ocean. We didn't think, we
didn't care, we were too eager.
Blissful ignorance held us
trapped in a tight embrace.
The sea engulfed us,
oh! It was so
wonderful!
But Passion
pulled us
down.
Now I'm
drowning in
your love, drowning
in us. What we did,
our impatience, backfired.
We're dragging each other down,
deeper and deeper into the
ocean. You need to let me go now,
You need to release my hand as I do
yours. We need to let go, we need to
swim back to the surface alone
together. Once we've broken
through and can breathe on our own,
we can evolve into one,
a single sea creature,
with a silver tail
and travel the
depths as one.
I love
you.
