NEVER EVER

"No, no," he said,
"No chance. Not in a million years."
"How about in a billion then?" she said.
He couldn't believe his ears.

"Well, what I mean," he said,
"Is never. That is, never ever."
"Never say never," she replied.
"But, I just did," he sighed.

"But you can't say never," she said,
"For you never really know."
"I can't say I really care," he said.
The woman simply shrugged, "Oh."

He frowned. "What do you mean; oh?"
She shrugged again, "Just what I said."
"But, I don't get what you're getting at,"
Said the man, puzzling and scratching his head.

"No," she said, "Apparently not.
And I expect that you never will."
"That's not very nice," he said. She smirked,
"Well, now you know how I feel."
