T is for

Time
-------
It was one brief moment in time
In our vast, mind boggling universe
That God alone knows the secrets of
That my soul, my being, my essence
Fell in love with both beauty and strength
And fused for all eternity
With two kindred spirits
One of whom stirred my heart and
Rekindled thoughts and feelings
That lay dormant in a dark lonely period
And in another time, another place, another world
I would have wooed her, pursued her and
Won or lost with heart full or broken;
The other soul was blind in body
But saw more than fortunate others
Her strength and humour recharged my tired out mind
And shone like a beacon
In a long dark tunnel
So distance could divide us
Time change us
Age dim our memories
But for one brief moment
In eternal history
Our little cogs clicked in the clock of time
Our souls fused and sang their songs
And will again
In a greater lasting moment of time;
