Visions

As I walk about this town
I see you everywhere
But it always brings me down
Once again, it wasn't you
And no one else will do:
Only strangers, with your height and hair.
As I walk about this familiar street
I still see you at the door
Waiting for your customers to greet
Once again, it's not true
Just a man about to join the queue
Only a stranger, with clothes you once wore.
As I walk to catch my train
I see you at the bridge wall
Another memory, I retain
As I come near
Once again, you disappear
Yet another stranger, fair and tall.
As I walk towards my home
I see you here, so clearly too
Planning as I roam
I must find you
Once again, no can do
You are the stranger, with the name I never knew.
