It Took Time

It took time for her to see....

To see the pain and hurt he caused every time
he was near.

Through the tears and blinding pain she would never
admit that what he was doing was wrong.
She couldn't quite grasp the concept or she simply chose
to ignore the signs.

Through it all the only question that flashed through
her mind was " WHY "....

When all she had to offer was her heart, her love,
her soul....
Why would it be returned to her battered and bruised.

Where in all of this did she deserve this treatment...

And, OH GOD...Will it ever end
