Hop-Scotch
Flashback to the school boy,
Nervous in the park,
Sees the tempting beauty play hop scotch with his heart.
All that time he sat and wondered,
How does she really feel,
But nothing more than a whisper did her words unveil.
The Itchy Spots, the bum fluff chin,
The story moves on still,
Even now the girls play hop scotch,
Never opening up to him.
1 2 3, on the dance floor;
They seem so strange to him,
Do they ever love him or is it just cruel whim?
He hopes, he prays, he cries in pain,
They crush his heart yet hopes remain.
So he painfully lingers, now almost a man
His hop scotch hopes to hear her again.
